Just as Jesus is the link between God and man, Mary is seen as the link between Jesus and the world. She is our protector, our intercessor, our prayer guide through our life. They both are true expressions of faith, purity, kindness and love. It is calming to know that our souls will arrive in much the same way as Mary ascended into Heaven. She cleared the way for us by being a living sacrifice to her son.
This is why we pray the Holy Mary of the Rosary. As Jesus offered himself as atonement of sins for the world, Mary offered herself to the whole world as an example of our eventual rise into paradise. It is a promise made to us by Jesus and a promise kept by our mother Mary.
I see my prayer life growing and I know that when I send up my needs into Heaven, our Mother is there to act on our soulful requests. As an earthbound parent, we all feel the impulsion to be there for our children. We act as their guide throughout life. As our children listen to our hearts, we listen to the chorus being sung by the immaculate heart of Mary and are a living testament to her word.
There is a very simple connection we share – from Christ to Mary to the soul to us. Remember that we are God’s creation and are brought up in Mary’s light.
What Jesus delivered into this world was forgiveness and charity for others. Mary delivered her promise by becoming the vessel of God.
We, as men, as people, should contemplate our role in such giving. In life, our goal is to give without ceasing, love without condition or care of self and understand the univer’soul’ need for love without ending.
May the wind be at your backs and may you feel the gentle breath of the Holy Spirit. May the transfiguring light of God descend upon us all. Let His peace be with you, always.
